FAMILY and HOME

FAMILY

Family and being Home are two very important physical things that make me feel better.  You can chose your friends but you can't chose your family.  God does that and Oh Boy! I am so very GRATEFUL for the family and friends that I have been gifted.

In August we hosted a Crisler/Hunter Reunion where many of our cousins from far and wide gathered to raise a bit of cane.  Banana River Resort was the venue proving to be the primo entertainment spot.  I am glad we were able to lure so many of our family here to enjoy each others company.  It was a stellar weekend and we hope to do it again many time over.  Love my family!!!!

Last July marked 7 full years since my diagnosis of Ovarian Cancer.   On October 9 sitting in the chair getting my 6 out of 6 treatment of the same regime that worked so well some 7 years ago, I was hoping for the simular results.  If you’ve been reading my blogs you will know that I have tried a lot of things to prevent this growing enemy whose strategy is to take me down.  On that day we got to ring the bell for freedom from the traditional chemo chair.  Since this is an ongoing battle a break is in store and hopefully I can keep down the cancer growth.  CT scan didn't show anything significant and Lymparza, a maintenance drug is being prescribed.  It's just a pill a day!!  Love it!

During the 6 infusions 3 weeks apart I had to have a goal to have something to look forward to.    The Kona world championships were being held end of October.  Kona stoke is good for me so I made it my plan to participate. I trained well for it on the water and in the gym and I thought I was ready. Thought I was ready!   There was a massive shore break making it way too much effort to get out to the race course. Even with the help of my dear friend Taylor I was relegated to the sideline.  I enjoyed seeing my Kona family and applaude it’s one design success.  Clearwater sailing community who organized a great event just ROCKS!  It was lots of fun but too much for me physically so I returned home to focus on the fight ahead.

Greg and I have many plans ahead and with his partnership I know that we will do many wonderful things together.  His advice and support has been incredible and I look forward to our next adventures starting with a bit of downsizing.

Testing the water on the real estate scene, we put the Resort up for sale.  What a roller coaster of emotions that caused.  We had two CASH offers in one day!!  There is too much blood, sweat and tears to tear us apart,  the Resort and I.  Being a life long River Rat's Greg and I have decided to make it our permanent home.  That leaves us with a house on the Ocean we will be vacating.  Anyone want to buy a house of the Ocean?

Take a look at the River on a full moon from the balcony.  I think WE ARE HOME.
